LEGO Gingerbread House Review and Guide

These adults are accompanied by an adorable Gingerbread Baby which is represented by a printed 1x2 tile. That decision has elicited some disappointment but I think it works perfectly. Presumably the baby was recently removed from the oven so remains on a baking tray! The printing appears suitably endearing and the baby's sleeping facial expression is delightful as well.

Opinion: During the holidays, making dozens of cream sherry cakes for those who help our family survive

Once your order is dispatched, you can use your tracking number(s) to view updates on your order's progress. The icing on the cake (heh) is really the dollhouse design and inclusion of plenty of living areas which allows you to setup so many different scenes for the Gingerbread family. The build was also really fun and I was engaged throughout, despite some repetitive sections building the slopes roof, but I really loved seeing it all come together. Speaking on the aesthetics of the LEGO Gingerbread House, I don’t think its hyperbolic to state that this is one of the best designed sets in the entire Winter Village theme. It’s kind of a shame that LEGO didn’t modify the baby mould and turn it into some infant gingerbread monstrosity, but the printed gingerbread baby tile is still adorable as anything.

What’s Included

They’re based off the same Gingerbread Man mould from LEGO Minifigures Series 13, with a few small cosmetic changes such as the aforementioned facial features, but also red candy buttons on their bodies. In 2019, LEGO flips the formula on the head once again with a whimsical fantasy build, with the delightfully charming Gingerbread House. Waiting for a Christmas promo GWP but definitely excited to get this set. I'll be picking this up when there is a GWP (probably during Black Friday).

The combination of reddish brown and white certainly gives the impression of iced gingerbread and its steep roofs are marvellous, recalling Winter Village Post Office. Only 2 figures, it doesn't fit the regular winter village theme and the indoor/outdoor fireplace seems counter productive as a source of heat. But then again, those roofs are delightful, I hadn't seen them directly until now. The furnishings are also exquisite and really push me towards the set.I think I'll end up, somewhat begrudgingly, picking this up. I'll just have to make a separate display from the rest of the village, and perhaps move Santa's Workshop along with it too.In other news, does anyone know if Christmas Tree will be a GWP or a regular set?

Number of Pieces

The bed looks like a bar of white chocolate, and there’s a cotton candy (fairy floss for you Aussies) lampshade as well. On the house’s right side is an alternate entrance, complete with candy cane pillars. There’s also an outdoor picnic table, which has bits of ice/icing (man, I love the double entendre in this case) hanging off the edges. Similar detail adorns the Gingerbread Woman, whose beautiful pink icing contrasts with the reddish brown chocolate icing which has appeared on past gingerbread minifigures. The eyelashes and rosy cheeks are superb and I like the dress component.

Let’s sink our teeth into this set and see if it’s worth the hype. LEGO must’ve done something right as the set has been sold out for weeks now, which speaks to how well its been received by LEGO fans. "Presumably the baby was recently removed from the oven so remains on a baking tray!" is certainly a sentence I never expected to read on a Lego fan site. I usually find winter stuff far too kitschy, but I could see myself getting this piece. This set was provided for review by The LEGO Group but the review is an expression of my own opinions. Let us know by liking this article and share your opinion of the set in the comments below.

This set is ideal for older children or adults who enjoy collecting sets or are up for a building challenge. Due to its “limited” status, there’s high demand for this set among collectors and doting parents. If you really want to go all out this Christmas, get to work on this epic gingerbread village — it makes for an impressive, sugary holiday centerpiece. With red sour belt shingles and Tootsie Roll siding, this edible rustic log cabin sets the scene for the ultimate sugar-filled winter wonderland. Gingerbread House Ideas That'll Inspire You to Create an Epic Masterpiece

Love the larger Gingerbread House, but want something more accessible? This is the smaller gingerbread house set I mentioned earlier, released a few years before the larger gingerbread house (2015). Due to the complexity of the building process and the set’s tiny pieces, it’s not ideal for small children. And if anyone starts nibbling a little too much on your pretzel porch or fondant beer cooler, you can always add that dinosaur.

Some stores are already sold out, while others are selling out quickly. To make sure you get one, I’d recommend making the purchase ASAP. Everything follows the wintery, Christmassy theme, such as the candy decorations and the Christmas tree with presents. The LEGO Gingerbread House set made its appearance in late 2019, with VIP LEGO members getting access on September 18.

I like how the bathroom has been divided from the bedroom as well, despite the low roof height. The reddish brown walls include comparable detail, most notably below each upstairs window where white plates and tiles are attached sideways to form beams. This construction technique is extremely effective and the roof peaks are impressive too, including some Technic connectors which provide an absolutely rigid connection between separate panels. Ten years have elapsed since the Winter Village range was introduced and this appealing series maintains consistent popularity.

Part of the Creator series, the LEGO Gingerbread House was created to commemorate a decade of LEGO’s Winter Village line. This sugar cookie house is the product of "all things merry and bright." We bet this pretty and pink house would get Elle Woods' stamp of approval. No magic needed to make this house fit for a fairy — just some graham crackers and a fruit rollup.

Since I think this if the first village set with a toilet, there will be a long line of people waiting to get in the door! Also funny that the first restroom comes in the set with "non" people. Either way, mine arrives tomorrow and I look forward to adding it to the collection. Sweets represent more furniture inside the bedroom, most notably including the bed that resembles a pink wafer! The matching bedside table looks delightful and features a pink lampshade while the cot is cleverly designed using a 1x2x2 window frame.

Cut out larger pieces of gingerbread to create a country-style gingerbread barn. This bright, pastel-roofed gingerbread house boasts plenty of color (while it lasts ... your kids are going to eat all of those petite candies!). In 1812 Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published one of their most famous stories. Hansel and Gretel are left to stave in the woods by their cruel mother as their woodcutter father is unable to provide for the family. The children search for home and come upon a house built cakes, candy and gingerbread. The proprietor turns out to be an evil witch who lures them inside with the intention of eating them.

Unfortunately, these figures lack printing on their arms and legs but they remain appealing in my opinion. Winter Village sets are generally appropriate for communal building and two instruction manuals are accordingly provided. However, the division of construction between these seems uneven as the first manual features accessories while the second focuses upon the beautiful Gingerbread House. When you purchase it, you’ll get to enjoy tinkering with the four included figurines and the reindeer with a sled. Throw in the Christmas tree, piano, ship, plane, and naughty-nice list, and you have a complete holiday workshop going on.
